Description
Supplement for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition and Pulp Cthulhu in Italian
The new edition of what was known as The Thousand Faces of Nyarlathotep is both a revision and a complete update of the epic multi-part campaign set in 1925, where determined investigators must uncover secrets and fight the followers of darkness to prevent catastrophic events from destroying all humanity.
This version is obviously completely revised and updated for use with Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition, but it can also be played with the Pulp Cthulhu supplement!
A global campaign that will cover seven countries across five continents!
Rich in encounters, additional adventures, detailed adversaries, geographical information, and much more!
Presented for the first time in color, with new illustrations that are true works of art, maps and floor plans, and ready-to-use player handouts!
The appendices collect spells, tomes, artifacts, and travel advice!
The definitive edition, rich in tips and suggestions!
The original six-chapter campaign set in America, England, Egypt, Kenya, Australia, and China has now been developed and updated by Mike Mason, Lynne Hardy, Paul Fricker, and Scott Dorward, featuring enhanced encounters and new ones, subplots, and a detailed guide for the Keeper.
Also includes a new chapter...
Set in Peru, this new scenario takes place in 1921 and provides an exciting introductory prologue to the campaign, where investigators meet Jackson Elias, the hardworking and fascinating author whose research leads to the mystery that spans the entire world. Embarking on an expedition to find a lost South American pyramid, the investigators face ancient horrors that foreshadow their task.
...and much more!
And as an additional bonus, a chapter of The Great Conclusion will help the Keeper determine how successful the players have been in confronting the dark schemes of Nyarlathotep's cults and discuss ways to extend the campaign in various ways.
Each chapter has been meticulously referenced to help those running the campaign keep track of numerous positions, characters, player handouts, and objects found during the investigation. With new appendices collecting spells, tomes, and artifacts, managing the campaign will be easier than ever. Finally, we have added detailed new appendices!
All designed to assist the Keeper at every moment, thanks to these extensive appendices:
- Travel: details on travel times around the world, means of transportation, rest and recovery for traveling investigators, travel events, and also guidance for investigators who wish to learn new skills and improve existing ones.
- Spells: collects important spells for the campaign for easy reference, with over 30 detailed spells. Among them are Summoning the Dark Sphinx, Nephren-Ka's Seal, and Anubis' Relic, just to name a few.
- Tomes: during their investigations, investigators may encounter a wide range of tomes on the Mythos, each filled with forgotten wisdom and darkness. This appendix collects all the tomes encountered in the campaign, with over 20 detailed lists, each providing background information about the tome, knowledge within it, and its relevance to the campaign plot, whether it be the dreaded Necronomicon or the horrifying Black Tome.
- Artifacts: just as there are many tomes to discover, there are also numerous strange artifacts to find (some useful, others deadly). Here fifteen artifacts are collected, from Hayama's mask to the eyes' headgear, from Nitocris' ornaments to the odd device of rods, wheels, and mirrors.
